Southern Pine Garners Press Coverage

Regular contacts with the trade press are resulting in some positive feature stories about SFPA and Southern Pine product applications. The current issue of Southern Lumberman – which reaches 14,321 readers – devotes four pages to a profile of SFPA and Southern Pine Council activities. Three additional pages preview EXPO 2007. A special decking supplement in the May issue of Custom Builder magazine features comments from SFPA Director of Treated Markets Richard Kleiner along with photos supplied by SFPA. Next month, the magazine – with a circulation of 36,000 readers – will include raised floor information in an article about coastal construction. Technical details and renderings of raised floor systems supplied by SFPA will also be included in the July edition of Professional Builder (127,000 readers). More good news – the editors of Wood & Wood Products magazine have selected SP for their “Wood of the Month” feature, which will be seen by the magazine’s 43,243 readers in the July issue. “So many of the articles we’re working on this year are the direct result of trade show meetings or annual media tours,” said Kim Drew, SPC’s public relations consultant. “We’re thrilled to see our public relations efforts continue to pay off in increasing coverage for SPC.”

SPC Appearing at Two Key Trade Shows

Two major stops on the Southern Pine Council’s 2007 trade show trail are coming up next week. The Construction Specifications Institute’s annual convention and expo, June 20-22 in Baltimore, brings together architects, engineers, specifiers and other design/build professionals. SPC and APA – The Engineered Wood Association will team up to promote the benefits of wood construction to the group at exhibit No. 646. Marketing vice president Steve Bean will be on hand, fielding questions and distributing the latest Southern Pine literature along with SPC’s handy Lumber Library CD, a collection of all publications. Meanwhile, SFPA Director of Treated Markets Richard Kleiner will staff an SPC display (No. 724) at the Southern Building Show, June 21-23, north of Atlanta at the Cobb Galleria Center. Hundreds of builders from throughout the region will be able to gather the latest Southern Pine information about treated and specialty products, plus raised floor construction techniques.
