The Southern Forest Products Association cooperates with
a variety of allied
organizations to accomplish mutually beneficial objectives and maximize staff
resources.
Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers
Association
SFPA and
the Southeastern
Lumber Manufacturers Association (SLMA) created the Southern Pine Council (SPC)
in 1988 to promote the many advantages
and applications of Southern Pine lumber products. Coordinated and
supported by producing members of SFPA and SLMA, SPC represents more than 80% of the
Southern Pine industry.
APA
SFPA's
strategic alliance with APA increases staff efficiency through shared promotions,
including joint trade show exhibits,
product literature, market research and the Wood Products Help Desk.
Wood Products
Council
SFPA is a charter member of the Wood Products
Council, a successful alliance of U.S. and Canadian trade associations, wood
products manufacturers and government agencies. WPC's mission is to help protect
and grow the market for wood products in North America by serving as a vehicle
through which wood industry associations can develop and coordinate programs in
the areas of market access, research, education, promotion and technical
support.
American Forest
& Paper Association
SFPA
is a member of the American Forest & Paper
Association (AF&PA) and contributes a regional presence and voice on pending
federal legislative and regulatory issues that impact the industry. Based
in Washington, D.C., AF&PA is a national trade association representing the forest, paper and
wood products industry.
Treated Wood
Council
This
industry-led alliance of preservative manufacturers, treaters, lumber
producers and associations lets the design-build community and consumers know
about the proven safety of pressure-treated wood products. Using current
resources and synergies already established in the wood industry, the
Treated
Wood Council (TWC) monitors and responds to regulatory and legislative affairs.
The Southern Pine Council is a founding member of TWC.
Southern Pressure Treaters'
Association
The Southern Pressure
Treaters' Association (SPTA) represents producers of
industrial wood
products preserved with AWPA approved industrial wood preservatives. SFPA works
with SPTA on issues that affect the marketability and promotion of treated wood
products and building systems.
