About Us |
The Southern Forest Products Association was founded in 1915 as the Southern Pine Association. Today, SFPA is recognized as one of the foremost trade organizations in the forest products industry and represents Southern Pine lumber manufacturers from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
SFPA's members produce about 55% of the Southern Pine lumber in the United States, enough to build more than a half a million new homes a year. Our office is located in the metro New Orleans area with marketing operations serving the entire United States. International market consultants cover markets in Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Japan, China, India and the Middle East. Our activities include the Southern Pine Council – a joint effort with Southeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association (SLMA) to promote Southern Pine – and the Forest Products EXPO – an extensive display of forest products machinery and equipment, technology and services.
